What does an air shower do in a cleanroom?

It removes loose dust, lint, fibres, and particulate matter from garments, carts, and material surfaces before they enter a cleanroom. High velocity HEPA filtered air exits through adjustable nozzles at 20–30 m/s, dislodging particles that return through low-level grilles and pass through the filtration system.

How long should an air shower cycle last?

10 to 30 seconds in most installations. The setting depends on the cleanroom SOP, contamination risk, and manufacturer recommendation. Too short and the scrubbing action is incomplete. Too long and the entry point becomes a bottleneck.

What is the difference between HEPA and ULPA filters in an air shower?

Gowning SOPs, cleaning procedures, HVAC pressure cascades, environmental monitoring, and validated cleanroom procedures all need to work alongside the air shower.
